  • I served 4 yrs in the USMC (Sgt, '73 - '77). I never had to go into combat so I won't pretend to know the mindset of anyone that has. That being said, responsibility for one's actions should be the rule, military or otherwise. It is alleged that this soldier deliberately did what he did.

  • This act, by our soldier is inexcusable and nothing short of reprehensible. It's different if the fire is against ARMED opposition. If facts are straight, apparently, our guy did this under the cloak of darkness and deliberately killed civilians in their homes.

  • I don't really see any problem with the refusal of the Priest to allow Ms Johnson to partake in Communion. I am not Catholic, I am Southern Baptist and we also have guidelines in the Holy Bible that we follow as far as just whom SHOULD or can partake in what we term "The Lord's Supper".

  • My guess is that it is just the type of arrogance displayed by Limbaugh and his ilk that will get President Obama re-elected this November. I would venture further and say that "they" probably think that contraceptives are for "them" only. I'm so sure that no Republicans, right-wing Catholics, etc...

  • Steve S. - As a Republican Representative rudely caled out to our President, "You lie!" so do you, sir... 2010 Tax Return Info (2011 isn't available) - Obamas gave 14.2% of their income to charity ($245,075); Bidens 1.4% ($5,350). There's nothing in our laws that says one MUST contribute to charity.

  • With all due respect to the Rev. Franklin Graham... My Grandparents, Great-Grandparents and then up to the time they converted to Southern Baptist, my parents, were all Catholics.

  • Calm your fears and doubts...Christie HAS lowered the flag for EVERY NJ soldier that has died in combat while he has been Governor. I don't care for Christie at all but he was well within his boundaries to do what he did. He honored Houston for being an "icon" from NJ.
